SP Projects was appointed as Employer’s Agent for this new primary school. The project involved a new build primary school built on the playing fields of an existing school. Once children moved across to new school, the old school was demolished and became car parking and playing fields for the new school. The site was split on two levels and was located in a valley and therefore caused construction and drainage problems. The build also incorporated scope for a nursery to be constructed at a later date. The building was economic in its shape and use of materials, it had a steel frame, metal clad external walls and roof, aluminium windows and the large concrete retaining wall. The project was procured under a JCT Design & Build Contract. It was completed on time and within budget.
